Leonard's AUTO WORLD

During an automotive career that spanned more than 25 years, I had the first hand opportunity to meet with thousands of new car owners. One of the very first things I learned was that many of them would rather visit their dentist for a root canal than go through the often stressful "horse trading" involved when buying a new car.

And why not? Up until recently, all steps in the new car buying process were conducted on the dealer's turf. The new car buyer had to visit the dealership to look at the cars, price the cars and deal with a trained sales professional during the ultimate negotiation for price. The dealership sales reps always had the advantage over the customer since they knew the real cost figures for the new cars they were selling and the true value of the customer's trade-in. At best, the buyer could only shop several dealerships in an often difficult and futile attempt to determine what price would really be a "deal".

Fortunately, the internet has dramatically changed the rules in the buyers favor. Today's consumers no longer need to be the underdog during the car buying process. Car shopping has never been easier!

BEFORE you drive to the first dealership to shop, do your homework. There's a wealth of information available on the net for free. There are a ton of auto buying web sites that have all of the information you need to save a lot of money with less stress and aggravation. Buying a new car should and will be exciting and fun when you're on an even playing field with the dealer.

A few minutes on your computer will let you See the different models you might be interested in (Often in 3-D); Learn all about their specifications and options and - most importantly - get a FREE Online Quote so you will know the highest price you should have to pay for your new car. When you know this number ahead of time, YOU will be in control of the buying process.

You can also use these great sites to avoid the old fashioned and stressful in-dealership negotiation entirely and it is quite possible that you will receive a lowest purchase price quote from the same dealership you were planning to visit and "hoped" to get a good deal from.

Either way - The option is yours.

Want to get a car salesman's undivided attention in less than ten seconds? No problem. Just let him or her know that you already have the cash in hand to pay for the vehicle you want to buy. You can do that and deal with the salesman just like a "cash buyer" if you will spend a few minutes on the net before going to buy your car.

Conduct your own Credit Check and get Financing and Insurance before going to the dealership. You can either pay the dealership a premium price to do that for you or you can save money every month by finding and buying your own before you buy a car.

If you are in the market for a used car, don't even think about giving your money to a stranger before doing a Vehicle History Search to verify the mileage, title and service history of the vehicle they are selling. Once you find the car you want, let the seller know you will get back with them AFTER you use the internet to obtain that information from an independent source. Don't worry about losing the car to someone else. In the unlikely event that seller finds another buyer while you check out the information you need to protect yourself, there will be others to choose from.

If you would like some expert advice on how to go about negotiating the best deal possible, there are a ton of Car Buyers books available that will take you through the process step-by-step.

I'm confident that at the very minimum, these automotive web sites and books will provide you with all the information you need to buy or lease your next new car ON YOUR TERMS.

Enjoy Your Next New Car Shopping Experience!

Regards,

Leonard
